Our coalition is undertaking a study regarding alternative fuel stations along interstates in Northeastern Illinois. We need help from fleets and other stakeholders to assist in establishing criteria for future fueling station sites.
We hope to capture and compile ideas related to where and why such stations might be considered going forward, ideally aligning with our stakeholders’ goals and needs.
Alternative fuels that we hope to include in the study are:
- Electric vehicles
- Compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquified natural gas (LNG)
- Liquified propane gas (LPG)
- Ethanol blends (e.g. 85% ethanol /15% gasoline)
- Biodiesel blends (e.g. 20% biodiesel/80% diesel)
- Hydrogen
