It has been a weird and challenging year. However, it would be even weirder if we did not recognize our annual Clean Fuels Champion.
The Clean Fuels Champion award celebrates the efforts of an individual or organization who has gone above and beyond to advance sustainable fuel and transportation options to improve local air quality in the six-county Chicago area.
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the negative health impacts of air pollution, something our stakeholders have been committed to addressing for over 25 years. Our CACC Executive Board would like to maintain the Clean Fuels Champion award tradition this year, but with a slight modification.
We are seeking nominations to recognize the efforts of essential workers, first responders, fleets and others who continued sustainable vehicle operations through the pandemic, keeping Chicago-area residents safe all the while mitigating impacts to air quality.
Please send us a short description of any COVID-19 operations, activities and projects that advanced our Clean Cities’ mission despite the ongoing pandemic. The CACC board will review nominations and determine who is selected for the 2020 Clean Fuels Champion.
